Enos Ludden

Enos Ludden (1761–1841)

A Revolutionary War Soldier with ties to Cattaraugus County.

Life: Born in Braintree, Mass.; died Aug. 30, 1841, in Hinsdale, N.Y. Buried in Maplehurst Cemetery. His tombstone reads: "In freedom's cause he fought and bled, But now he's numbered with the dead.".

Service: Enlisted Dec. 1777; served under Major Proctor, Capt. Champney, and Capt. Burbank at Castle Island, Boston Harbor.
