Alpheus Harmon

Alpheus Harmon

Revolutionary War veteran with ties to Cattaraugus County.

Life: Born March 29, 1755; died April 11, 1831. Buried in McKinstry Hollow Cemetery, Town of Yorkshire.

Service: Enlisted in 1775 under Ethan Allen and Seth Warner. He was at Ticonderoga, Crown Point, the Battle of Bennington, and the surrender of Burgoyne. He later served in the N.Y. Rangers until 1780.

Family: Married Susanna Smith (died 1834). They had nine children, including twins Pudelia and Fidelia.
