In 1833 (35), James Dunlap opened a store in Leon Center on the corner opposite the Noyes Hotel, being said to be the first store building erected. Other owners included Jenks and Cooper, Ezra Cooper, as well as others. Once, William Babcock had a furniture display room there. It later housed the Post Office and now stands as a residence and Abbott's pizza.
