The flat area along Rt. 62 around the former Methodist Episcopal Church and beyond as you head South, was scoured out by the glacier. Country Side Sand and Gravel laid down there business there, mining the remnants the glacier left behind and the area farmland. Now, it has joined with Gernatt's Asphalt Products, Inc., a very successful business in and around Cattaraugus County.
