The current day location of this event is on the farm belonging to Denny and Marilyn Eddy Siperek, located at the end of Whalen Rd (off Cross Rd). During the post WWII era, motorcycle hill climbs were contests to see who could navigate their motorcycle the furthest up a steep hill. Often the Hill Climbs were hosted by the Ellicottville Ramblers Motorcycle Club in July on what was then Whalen farm. The Ellicottville Ramblers also hosted a variety of events throughout the year including the hill climb in Great Valley, fishfries and they had their own baseball team.
