Salamanca Area Historical Society Museum

More than just "photos on a wall," the Salamanca Area Historical Society Museum invites you to explore three floors of history!  This museum is housed in a restored 1882 bank building.  The first floor features two bank vaults, displays of local history memorabilia and books filled with photos and information for you to enjoy.  The second and third floors have themed displays respresenting Business and Organization Memorabilia, Military and victorian household rooms and a chapel, schoolroom and fire/police area.

The Museum also houses an extremely rare 41 Star Flag (circa November 1889) and represents Montana becoming the 41st state to join the Union.  This flag was only used for 3 days, as Washington became the 42nd state to join the Union three days after.  The Museum is presently accepting donations in an effort to preserve this flag from further deterioration.  Hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Knowledgeable staff available to answer questions.

Group tours are available outside of regular operating hours any day or time by prior arrangement.  Open year round! Admission is free.  Fully handicapped accessible.  Look for their events or sign up to be a member on their Facebook, website or by calling 716-945-2946.
