Terry Bellamy lecture and demo for Black History Month

Blues Music Presentation for Black History Month
Sunday, February 17, 2019 - 2:00pm to 3:30pm

Join the African American Center for Cultural Development in welcoming musician, Terry Bellamy, in a special lecture and performance for Black History Month.  Terry will be speaking on the art of Otis Rush and other Bluesmen.

Otis Rush was an American Blues guitarist and singer-songwriter.  His distinctive guitar style featured a slow-burning sound and long bent notes.  His sound became known as West Side Chicago Blues and influences many musicians who followed.  The Jazz Foundation of America honored Rush with a Lifetime Achievement award on April 20, 2018.  He passed away September 2018.

Terry will also demonstrate the style of guitaring that made Rush listed as one of the great guitarists of all time.
